What is 5k for the Kids?
5k for the Kids is a new event to be sponsored by the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. The event itself is a 5k race that will be held on the University of Toledo Scott Park Campus. The race will start in lot 22 and will end there as well. The race will be managed by the Toledo RoadRunners Club, who will run equipment and do the timing of the race.
The Children's Miracle Network
 CMN is a non-profit organization that can be found all around the country. Below are a few facts about CMN:
CMN Treats 17 million children each year for every disease and condition imagineable
CMN Hospitals treat children with cancer, pediatric aids, MD, heart disease, leukemia, sickle cell anemia, asthma, and accident trauma
CMN Hospitals provide state of the art compassionate care for all children.
Since 1983, CMN has raised more than $3.1 billion for hospitalized children

 St. Vincent's Children's Hospital and CMN
Supporting CMN at the St. V's Children's Hospital is something that has been building up over the past few years, especially among the University of Toledo Students.
Each year. a group of dedicated students run an organization called Dance Marathon. This event is aimed at raising money for the Children's Miracle Network locally. Over the past 9 years, this group has rose over $300,000 for this cause.
The gentlemen of Pi Kappa Alpha at UT support this cause and have adopted CMN as our official philanthropy. Because of this, most events we put on are aimed at raising money for this cause. Last year, Pi Kappa Alpha rose over $7,000 for CMN and we are looking to raise even more this year!
By taking part in 5k for the Kids you can help this great cause. All proceeds from the race go to the CMN at St. V's Hospital.

The upcoming charity event "5k for the Kids" helps benefit the Children's Miracle Network at St. Vincent's Children's Hospital. Every year we try to raise money to help these brave children durring their worst of times. Our goal is to out do the previous year. And with your help and support we believe that we can achive this.

Awards
- Overall male and female in the following categories:
- Open, Masters [40-49], and Grand Masters (50+) in the 5k race. The walk is non-competitive
Shirts
- All pre-registered participants will receive a t-shirt. Postmark by October 21st, 2009
